Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio
750 ML (Standard)
New Zealand,
Australia/New Zealand
$15.97
Flavor ProfileOur Pinot Gris is an invitation to experience the unexpected. The opulent palate combinesstone fruit, apples, juicy ripe pears, and a touch of floral honey before delving into anexpressive, persistent finish. The incredible richness in flavor is achieved by meticulouslyhand-tending and hand-harvesting the vines.Winemaker NotesThe 2012 was a tricky vintage with difficult flowering, followed by a cool summer. BecauseAutumn was fine, cool, and dry, it led to a good vintage with clean ripe fruit. We hand pickedon 27th April, about three weeks later than normal. We emphasize the texture through handharvesting, gentle whole bunch pressing, and fermentation in a mix of old oak and stainlesstanks. The Pinot Gris is then aged on yeast lees to add required elements to the palate andaroma. The Perfect MatchPair our Mt. Beautiful Pinot Gris with pasta, chicken, salmon, pork, and especially rowdydinner guests. For The AficionadoPlanted 2005-20061 block4.2895 hectares11733 vines@2.4x1.5 metresThe Pinot Gris is planted on the warm slopes of a north facing hill block of natural uncontouredland, sloping from 55m to 32m above sea level.
